Job Description

The Field Supervisor is a critical leadership role, responsible for supporting our core values of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork while ensuring safe and efficient traffic control operations. With a passion for safety and team development, the Field Supervisor will manage field crews, oversee daily operations, and contribute to a culture of engagement and excellence.

This position involves direct collaboration with the Area Manager and General Manager and requires a mix of field and office responsibilities (80% field, 20% office).

Responsibilities

• Supervise field crews and manage daily operations.

• Develop relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals and identify new opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, protecting employees, customers, and assets.

• Provide coaching, motivation, and development for field crews to foster teamwork and improve performance.

• Conduct field and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, and meet with clients.

• Address customer service issues promptly and maintain high levels of satisfaction.

• Assist in preparing daily schedules and managing payroll, timekeeping, and time-off requests.

• Facilitate teambuilding efforts and regular communication with team members.

• Support training initiatives for new and current employees to reduce turnover, improve efficiency, and enhance safety.

• Become a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.

• Obtain ATSSA and state-specific certifications to ensure compliance and expertise.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a 4-year degree in a business-related field is a plus.

• 1-2 years of supervisory experience, managing teams of 20+ individuals.

• Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

• Ability to build relationships with field-level customers and team members.

• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

• Demonstrated ability to engage and develop employees.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Availability to work 40+ hours per week, with a majority of time spent in the field.

• Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

• Ability to lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor under adverse conditions.

Additional Information

Compensation:

• Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually.
