Job Description
Lead with Purpose—Operations Manager
The Operations Manager will oversee the strategic planning, safety compliance, and daily operations of LADMA Traffic Control. This role requires a proactive leader with a focus on workforce forecasting, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. The Operations Manager will directly manage a team of 25-50+ employees, ensuring a safe and productive work environment while fostering growth opportunities for the team and the company.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to uphold safe work practices, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Manage and mentor a team of 25-50+ employees, fostering collaboration, engagement, and teamwork.
• Conduct thorough safety investigations and implement preventative measures to minimize risks and accidents.
• Oversee traffic control, safety protocols, and supervisory duties, becoming an expert in work zone setup and flagging practices.
• Partner with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and train employees who align with LADMA’s values and mission.
• Facilitate safety meetings and promote accountability through committee discussions.
• Utilize workforce planning tools to forecast staffing needs and maintain operational efficiency.
• Monitor and audit the use of assets, employee productivity, and project timelines.
• Address customer service concerns promptly, maintaining high satisfaction and fostering client relationships.
• Identify growth opportunities and enhance LADMA’s presence within the service area.
• Manage employee concerns, including payroll, scheduling, time-off requests, and performance improvement.
• Support employee training and development initiatives to reduce turnover and improve safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
• 5-10 years of management experience in operations or related fields.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Experience managing P&L is preferred but not required.
• Background in process improvement (Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma) is a plus.
• Proven ability to develop business plans and foster strong customer relationships.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Compensation
• Competitive salary: $75,000 – $90,000 annually, plus bonus.
• Includes company vehicle and gas card.
